California flood of 1605 : ウィキペディア英語版 | California flood of 1605 The California flood of 1605 was a massive flood that covered large sections of present day California. It was a result of sustained major rain storms across the region. The flooding affected the indigenous peoples of California, in pre-European colonization populations. Similar major floods happened in the California region in: 212, 440, 603, 1029, 1418, and 1862. In 1861–62, the Great Flood of 1862 caused the state capital to be temporarily moved from flooded Sacramento to San Francisco, with Southern California and other adjacent western states also flooded. Many floods of California in the 20th century were controlled by pumping stations, dams and man made canals such the Los Angeles River running within the city of Los Angeles. ==External links==
